The ongoing joke at Emma & Russ’s wedding was that it was ‘about time!’ They have been a couple for many years and have two beautiful children together. A low key, summer, village hall wedding was just perfect for these two to ‘finally’ tie the knot. Emma got in contact with me a few years ago enquiring about the details of a wedding we had shot at Hatton Village Hall and wondered where the couple had held their reception. After sending her through all the information Emma decided to book us too! From the outset Emma & Russ always wanted to do a ‘first look’ and have all their photos (including ones with the boys) taken before the ceremony. I cannot recommend doing this more highly. I know it’s not for everyone but it is the ONE thing I would have changed about our own wedding. I was a bag of nerves on the morning of our wedding – cue lots of tears and me pretty much dragging my dad down the aisle in order to reach Kev. Why? because he’s my rock and he keeps me level headed and together. I would have loved to have spent just a few minutes together to calm down and I think I would have loved the photos from this time too. The decision to do this shoot early was so great and gave us the entire reception to just take candid photos of the guests and everyone enjoying themselves. Hatton Hall doesn’t have any grounds – just a car park so by doing the shoot early we also didn’t have to worry E&R about popping off for some couples’s photos away from the venue taking them away from their guests.
